SerureCRT 8.3 installation on Ubuntu 16.04LTS Linux

This tutorial uses SerureCRT 8.3 - Nov 9, 2017 release running on Ubuntu 16.04LTS machine, follow the steps below and enjoy fully featured rock-solid terminal emulation:
  • Download the latest SecureCRT for Linux Ubuntu 16.x 64-bit (scrt-8.3.0-1514.ubuntu16-64.x86_64.deb) from official Website 
  • Double click the downloaded .deb file, and install it through Ubuntu Software Center for ease.
  • Open a terminal (Ctrl+Alt+t) and download the perl script:
    rana@Ubuntu16:~$ wget http://download.boll.me/securecrt_linux_crack.pl
  • Check out the SecureCRT installation path:
    rana@Ubuntu16:~$ whereis SecureCRT
    SecureCRT: /usr/bin/SecureCRT 
  • Run the perl script on SecureCRT's installation path '/usr/bin/SecureCRT':
    rana@Ubuntu16:~$ sudo perl securecrt_linux_crack.pl /usr/bin/SecureCRT
    If the script is successful, the registration information output will be generated in terminal.
  • Now, run 'SecureCRT' command in terminal and follow the prompts to fill out the registration information output in 'Enter License Manually' Tab.
  • All Done!

      Yeah, if you patch successfully than; even though the license generated from patch is from the past, but registration info is still valid for the current versions (at the the time of writing this reply 'v8.3.4-1699' & all previous versions).

      Nope :( just tried on Fedora qit version 8.5.0 but it says that the registration info are for version prior of 8.5.0 :(

      For scrt-8.5.0-1740, trick is to apply the patch with same perl script and than using the following registration information rather than the info generated in terminal to get it registered:

      Name: ygeR

      Issue Date: 08-25-2018
      Key: ACYK2P JAR3W7 14JDJN H6U1NJ AADC3T 4P7DUB Y1CJ34 GK2YVD

      I have the following script (similar to the perl one found o this post):

      cat SecureFX | od -A n -v -t x1 |tr -d ' \n' > SecureFXHEX.txt
      mv SecureFX SecureFX_backup_8.3.4
      sed -i 's/c847abca184a6c5dfa47dc8efcd700019dc9df3743c640f50be307334fea/e02954a71cca592c855c91ecd4170001d6c606d38319cbb0deabebb05126/g' SecureFXHEX.txt
      cat SecureFXHEX.txt | xxd -r -p > SecureFX

      After this patch I can use the following reg info but works only with version 8.3.4 (NOT WITH 8.5):

      Name: ygeR
      Company: TEAM ZWT
      Serial Number:06-70-001589
      License Key: ACUYJV Q1V2QU 1YWRCN NBYCYK ABU767 D4PQHA S1C4NQ GVZDQF
      Issue Date: 03-10-2017

      It works! I think your key is incomplete. There's 'D' at the end :)
      I also used the patch of Luca for securefx and the corresponding register info you gave to him. All are working correctly!

    When I ran securecrt_linux_crack.pl on ArchLinux using sudo it does return an error
    error at securecrt_linux_crack.pl line 90.

    I tested on SecureCRT 8.5.4

    Tested on OS: Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS x86_64, Version 8.5.4 (build 1942) - Official Release - mayo 30, 2019, both Secure CRT and FX.

    hi all!
    script works also on securecrt 8.7.1 but you need to generate registration info with windows keygen. unfortunately it does not work with securefx. no registration info works but script modify correctly the binary. any ideas?
